The Galactic Underworld and
the Midlight Meditation, June 1-2, 2005 |
The Mayan calendar describes the evolution of consciousness on several different levels. These levels may be called Underworlds and there are nine of them, with the longest starting about 16 billion years ago with the Big Bang and the most well-known being the so called Long Count or Great Cycle that started about 5000 years ago in 3114 BC. Each of these Underworlds develops its own kind of phenomena and for instance the Underworld that began with the Big Bang, which I have called the Cellular Underworld develops the basic matter of the universe; organized into galaxies, star systems, planets and at a certain point also cellular life. The so-called Long Count, or Thirteen Baktun cycle (a baktun is a period of 400 tun (360-day periods) = 144.000 days) is the sixth level of the cosmic pyramid and so develops the basics of human civilization; nations, writing, metal use and religions according to a specific pattern that I have identified in my books: The Mayan Calendar (Garev, 2001) and The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness (Bear and Co, 2004). These patterns conform to the tzolkin, the Sacred and Immutable calendar of the Maya and especially the Midpoints of these Underworlds tend to give rise to a range of phenomena that have a lasting impact on the future development of an Underworld. We may see several examples of this from the midpoint of the Long Count around 550 BC, when to take an example the first gold coins came into use (indicating that the rule of the abstracting left brain half had come to a point where barter was really left behind). In terms of religious developments, the midpoint of the Thirteen Baktun cycle (or National Underworld) was also extremely fruitful. In the Western Hemisphere, the very Sacred Calendar dates back to this time as the oldest example of tzolkin symbols in Monte Alban in the Mexican state of Oaxaca date from this time. In the Jewish tradition, the Book of Isaiah, dating from this time is the first holy scripture presenting a View of a Universal God that is not limited to a special people or tribe. And in fact from all over the world examples abound of important religious innovative thought from the very Midpoint of the Thirteen Baktun cycle: Buddha, Lao-Tse, Zoroaster, Pythagoras, Confucius and Bagavad-Gita. A change of consciousness took place at this point and so a new and maybe more abstract view of the divine came into emerged. Not only that this time this is the time of the emergence of the human individual, especially maybe in Greece, where some philosophers are starting to pronounce thoughts that are ”their own”, in other words not merely messages conveyed from the gods. If we go back to an earlier point in human history than this it is almost always difficult to know if a person is mythic or a real individual. Was Imhotep, the architect of the Egyptian pyramids, a real person or a myth? Was Moses a real person or a myth? Before the midpoint of the Thirteen Baktun cycle this is always difficult to tell how much is myth and how much is real. Everyone would however agree that Socrates, Aristoteles and Plato, who lived around the midpoint are really existing individuals. The whole meaning of human being changed, because of an energy change described by the Mayan calendar at this point. The point to realize is that their is nothing such as a fixed “human nature”. The energies of the Mayan calendar are in fact continuously transforming human beings according to the higher purpose of the divine plan. It is similarly very easy to find examples from other Underworlds of the decisive effect that the midpoint has on what it means to be a human being and its relationship to the environment. Take for instance the thirteen katuns (a katun is a period of 20 tun = 7200 days) of the Planetary Underworld that began in AD 1755 which developed industrialism. The midpoint of this Underworld fell in the years 1883-1884. These are the years when household electricity first ecame available (1882-83 in London) and the invention of the car (1884). Without these innovations the rest of industrial development would be unthinkable. ”Why is this important to people who are living today?” The reason is that we are now rapidly approaching the exact midpoint of the Underworld that affects us the most dramatically at the present time, The Galactic Underworld, which began January 5, 1999 and develops a new type of consciousness in the same pulsewise manner in only thirteen tun until its completion on October 28, 2011. It is however important to know that this consciousness that is currently being developed by the Cosmic Plan is very different from those of the Lower Underworlds. The Galactic Underworld does not produce patriarchal religions such as the National Underworld or industrialization as was the case in the Planetary Underworld. The purpose of the Galactic Underworld is rather to recreate balance in the world, balance between East and West, Intuition and Logic, Women and Men. It is about dominance coming to an end in all human relations and about the crumbling of hierarchies based on the patriarchal and mechanized mentality of the Lower Underworlds. The midpoint of the current Galactic Underworld is now rapidly approaching and will take place on the days June 1-2, 2005. In the traditional Sacred Calendar that has been used by the Maya for 2500 years, this shift point occurs on the two energies 13 Ahau and 1 Imix (13 Light and 1 Alligator). These are the dates of the Midlight Meditation. I call on everyone to make use of these energies in a global meditation serving to create resonance with the World Tree (Mayan Hunab-Ku) for guidance, but maybe more importantly to visualize the end to dominance. A shift in all human relations and the relationship between the human being and nature is according to the Mayan calendar scheduled to take place at these days and I feel we shall all make the most use of the very powerful energies that will be ruling on these days for creating a world free of dominance. If you look at the midpoints of the two abovementioned Underworlds it is easy to realize that all of their continued evolution would have been unthinkable without the changes that took place at their midpoints and so I feel we should approach the midpoint also of this Underworld, with an attitude that our intent for it will truly matter. The Cosmic Plan may aid us in providing the energies of transformation, but always needs us to act as co-creators for true change to be brought about. Carl Johan Callemancjcalleman@swipnet.se |
